Stamping in the Rain

  1. nanci corzine: I've seen her stomp in puddles before but this was my first experience seeing her with the umbrella... too cute...…

  2. tutu: Great to see postings again on the blog! I love the stamping in the puddles! Looking forward to seeing you…

Dennis the Menace Playground

Making note of nearby playgrounds is essential to travel these days. Our wedding trip to Monterey/Carmel this weekend was made all the better by a little advance planning and a subsequent trip to Dennis the Menace Playground. It’s a toddlers dreamscape with tons of jungle gyms, a bumpy slide, and a killer bouldering area that rivals Buttermilk (okay, maybe not for adults but for toddlers?┬ádefinitely!)

Grated Bridge gave Harper some pause.

Tube slide was a favorite.

Checking the hold and choosing her route.

Butter's for Babies

They till the sand every day! No foreign objects here.

  1. linda: Dennis the Menace playground has been a family favorite for many years. So glad you discovered it. We always went…

Play Dough

Harper Sue’s current favorite toy is play dough. She loves to haul it around the house and out to the balcony. We’re still working on “no eat” which astounds me given how much salt and cream of tartar is in my recipe!

Harper Hearts Books

We have a lot of books… in every room… on nearly every shelf. Not surprising that Harper Sue has developed a love of flipping through the pages. Her preference is 400+ page paperbacks but she’ll pretty much flip through anything with a binding.

  1. nanci corzine: Books, music, and it looks like she's going to be a "hands on" kinda girl... YES!!!!!!!

Discovering Discovery Museum

We wrapped up an adventurous mommy daughter weekend on Sunday with a play date with Lilia and her mommy and daddy at Discovery Museum.

What a blast! Harper Sue thoroughly enjoyed the Tot Land adventure area complete with a running stream, crossing bridge, indoor pond (think water bed covered with gymnasium vinyl) and discovery structures of every kind. We are definitely getting a membership to this place and coming back as often as possible.

  1. nanci corzine: What a wonderful place. An opportunity to explore and interact with "new friends". Looking forward to sharing this with all…

  2. Barbara Lord: Good to see her learning and having fun. So nice to see her in a cute feminine dress and hat:)

Volt App + iPad = Happy Harper Sue

  1. Rob Lord: FYI -- Volt app for iPhone, iPodTouch and iPad is available here:

  2. nanci corzine: WOW!!!! Again I'm reminded on how little I can forecast Harper's life to be so I'll just love her and…

Exploring the New World

Exploration of the nursery continued this week with new discoveries in the Changing Table territory. Harper Sue’s spelunking skills where tested during the excavation of size 1 diaper relics that had presumably been buried at the back of the territory for safe keeping or disposal.

  1. nanci corzine: Patti, does this bring back memories of early years going around stores refolding product?

Team Lord Entertainment

Many devoted Harper followers have commented on her boundless glee. “Does she always smile like that?” they inquire.

Yes she does. And we believe this is due in no small part to the top-notch entertainment productions of Team Lord. Here’s Patti in a recent performance of Fat Cell Tennis.

  1. Grammie Tutu: It sounds like Patti is entertaining Rob too :)

  2. linda: Just imagine what this world would be like if EVERY baby was so BLESSED! Thanks so much for sharing.

Block and Tackle

I’ve been spending a lot of time erecting block structures. Harper Sue has been spending a lot of time practicing her demolition techniques.

Here’s one of my best works (and the thing in the foreground’s not bad either).

On this afternoon Harper was most proud of her ability to throw the blocks off the table and climb over it to retrieve them again.

  1. nanci corzine: You must be having so much fun with her now. No doubt she's enjoying her life a lot because she's…

Hangin’ with Harpsuedactyl

Finally captured her pterodactyl call- that’s how I know she’s mine ;)

  1. nanci corzine: OMG I don't see her for a month and she's all grown up... responding to her name, crawling, standing up…

  2. Nana (Myra): How I love sooooo much (let me count the ways) all the What's New Harper Sue!!! I enjoy seeing them…
